3Don’t Just

Trash It!

This doesn’t need much explaining but a simple reminder is always good. Recycling cuts the waste stream by about 50%, and most students these days have heard about increasingly overcrowded landfills or trash in the environment like the Pacific Ocean Garbage Patch. Hopefully your school recycles but if not make a big fuss about it by throwing your recyclables in cardboard boxes with colorfully painted recycle symbols on them and place them in catchy locations. It will bring awareness to the issue and eventually your school will catch on. It may seem hopeless but it worked at my university. To find out what can be recycled in your city do a quick Google search with the name of your city followed by ‘recycling’. To search for recycling centers near you that pretty much accept anything click here.
