But Not ‘New’
Moving out of your childhood home and into your first place can be a little overwhelming, so we understand the desire to bring sentimental belongings along for the ride. However, try to limit these to small items that can be packed easily in your suitcase instead of large items like lamps, desks, and bedside tables that need to be packaged and shipped all over the country. This will reduce your carbon footprint, but only if you replace these items with previously owned ones found in the area on Craigslist, Freecycle, or at Garage Sales.
