This is huge! 5 days and counting until 192 countries meet (well actually their representatives) in Copenhagen, Denmark, one of the greenest countries in the world, for what is thought to be the last big chance for our world to come together with a legitimate plan to combat global warming! Make your voice heard by signing the petition on the Hopenhagen website (it’s very quick and easy) and let the world know “what gives you hope for a better planet”…

The main goal of this UN conference is to reduce future carbon emissions on a global scale but their  “hope” is that by doing so a rapid shift to a global green economy will also take place. Much emphasis is being put on the link between the fight against climate change and the recovery from the global market crash as unrelated as they may seem. It is thought that with a major push towards green energy more than 20 million new jobs will be created and the constantly fluctuating and gradually increasing energy costs that we have seen in the past will also steady.

Coordinating the participation of 192 countries is no small task. Each country has its own concerns as well as ideas about how the battle against global warming should be conducted. Let’s hope that, with so much at stake, our world can put it’s differences aside and put a plan into action. Check back soon for updates.
